Exhaust on its way out.

.
It's started making a rasping sound suggesting there's a small hole somewhere.
Any1 know if you if and how you can get hold of an original replacement exhaust and how much they cost? Are they unique to Williams or the same as the valvers.
I was wondering whether anyone makes a near identical exhaust system but from stainless steel, but I guess this would make my car 'non-standard' due to the extra weight of the SS?
I need to get this exhaust sorted quickly as I'm planning a long drive in a weeks time.

They are expensive from Renault. Centre section and back box. If you get renault to fit it, you proably wont get much change from a 750 notes.
There are copies (Walker etc), just as well built, but dont fit so well (the tailpipes are not quite so nice either) The copies have a removable U bend, So exhaust comes in 3 parts and is easier to fit (you dont have to drop the rear beam if you are fitting it without ramps). Copies are probaby half the price or less. Kwik fit et al all sell them and fit them. I paid about 150 pounds for a copy in 2005, so they are probably well over 200 pounds now. If you go down this route play one shop off against another until someone gives you a rock bottom price. The price they first quote will be a nice fat margin for them. Make them trim that margin down.
I am pretty sure stainless steel exhausts are lighter than mild steel. I know of no direct copies in stainless, and places like powerflow cant copy the original because they only have a limited number of tail pipes, none of which are like the original.
The rasping could quite easily be a leak from a joint that has become dislodged. Check before you shell out the money.
